"2 Parts 2" is a continued experimentation with the motif and material of the construction fence. A structure, doubling up as both a divider and a shelf, splits the room loosely into half. Audiences are made to cycle between both sides of the "fence" in order to access the archive folders on display. In contrast to the ARP's original design, individual artist's folders are selected at random to be displayed; the selection is then changed throughout the 6 days. Audiences are free to rearrange the folders on the structure.
Accompanying the installation is an untitled video of the rhythms of the lift. An HDB lift unit repeatedly traversing 40 stories of a block in Tiong Bahru. The lift's doors occupy the frame, opening and closing at every landing. Occasionally, a block resident enters the lift and encounters the camera. The video can be viewed either from two points on the red side of the structure, or unhindered in front of the blue side of the structure. (Please view slideshow for screen grabs of the video)

2 Parts 2 was shown at Bring it to LIFE, an invitation by CCA to 4 artists from their Artist Resource Platform to respond to the materials from the ARP, the design of The Lab Space, and also CCA's umbrella theme for the year: Place/Labour/Capital.
